What after Montessori?
The 3-year preprimary Montessori curriculum lays a strong foundation in a child for further learning. It marks the end of what Montessori calls the First plane of development (ages 0-6 years) which is characterized by physical and psychological independence. From a formal schooling perspective, it prepares a child to continue his/her educational journey under any educational pedagogy hereafter (Grade 1 at a Montessori, IB, IGCSE, CBSE, ICSE or State board).
Moreover, in addition to developing academic competencies, Montessori pre-schooling develops several other aspects of a child’s personality such as social skills, communication, logical approach, persistence, general awareness and scientific temperament. It also leads to development of positive self-esteem and high self-confidence. These attributes equip a child to thrive when he/she joins a regular school. Grade 1 admission tie-ups — Non-monetary
To facilitate the continued education after a child completes the Montessori cycle at Mont Ivy Preschools, the preschool has entered into Grade 1 admission tie-ups with some of the most reputed schools. Names and details of the tied-up schools are available on request. Such tie-ups are non-monetary and Mont Ivy Preschools does not derive any direct or indirect monetary benefits from the tie-ups.
Schools interested in entering into a Grade-1 admissions tie-up with Mont Ivy Preschools first express their intent of tying up. A team from Mont Ivy Preschools then visits the Grade-1 school and interacts with the senior management/principal of the school, only after which a formal tie-up is concluded.
Note: Many preschools enter into admission tie-ups with bigger schools on a monetary basis. Such preschools charge a commission from the tied-up bigger school (either a lump sum amount per student, or a percentage of the year 1 fees) for every preschool student who joins the bigger school. The bigger school, in turn, most likely collects the commission paid to such preschools from the parents themselves under various heads without the parents being aware of this arrangement.
This monetary arrangement gives rise to conflict-of-interest situations as the preschool may get tempted to recommend the highest bidding bigger school to parents rather than what’s best for the student – thereby adversely affecting the students. By engaging in these practices, such preschools also extract an indirect “hidden fees” from trusting parents – routed through the bigger schools.
